This is the place to practice editing wiki pages.

By clicking on the edit tab and then on the B icon that will appear you get Bold text. By clicking on the I icon you get Italic text, by clicking on the A icon you get

[edit] An example of headline text

and so forth.

An example of an automatically numbered list with sublists:

1. First item
   1. First subitem
   2. Second subitem
2. Second item
3. Third item
4. Etc...

A list without numbers:

• First entry
• Second entry
  • second item subitem
    • sub subitem
  • second item subitem
• Third entry
• Etc...

By clicking the edit tab you can see what has to be entered to get particular results. Also, some browsers will not display changes you have made until you force a reload of the page. Most browsers have an icon on the top line that reloads a page if you click on it.

If you accomplish something interesting, save it so others can see how to do it.

Hey, I see you! Yes, you. Since you're here, write something. All you have to do is click on the edit tab at the top of the page, then click in the edit window that appears and start typing. You can preview your post by clicking on the Show preview button below, and when you're satisfied, save it by clicking on the Save page button.

Ha! Rex, you soo good at reading IP's, eh? ;)) Hmmm... I shouldn't be surprised at all:) After all, it's Rex;) And yeah! Soo easy writing here! I believe people will very quickly get used to it and will post lots of useful stuff.

Yes, it's very easy to do basic text and links. The easiest way for me is to look at other people have done by clicking the 'edit' tab, and copy the structure.

Thanks for posting, Gay. The success or failure of FBwiki is entirely up to the community. If enough people see value, and contribute, it will fly. Otherwise, it will be a baby that didn't make it out of the egg. -rex

I figured out the bold text thingy. Type the word THEN click on the B. I was doing it more along the lines of html coding....B first. As for the baby and the egg, well at least I get to experiment in the meantime ;-) -gay

Either way works. You can get bold directly by typing 3 single quotes, then what you want to be bold, then 3 more single quotes. Often, the easiest way to see how to do formatting, etc. is to look at what others have done.

Re the baby and the egg, a FBwiki is inevitable eventually, IMO. It may or may not be too early now, but its time will come. The wiki concept is irresistable... -rex

Hi all - my first wiki experience, prompted by rex. I don't have any birds - just two cats who would like to eat them. :) In any case, good luck with the wiki. It seems a good thing to me. But can anyone edit my own post? Can you change good thing to bad thing? That would not be a good thing, it seems. I have tried to attach a bird picture; hope it works.
