Re: panic flights, tiels

My wild-caught (and apparently wild-fledged) Timneh spends a great
deal of time on the ground. My captive bred Red Tailed Greys were
never on the ground, or so I thought until I had dinner last night
with a neighbour. Grayson used to perch on a lamp post outside his
villa and chatter away. My neighbour told me that he was once
startled when Grayson grabbed onto his toe.

My White Capped Pionus never intentionally goes to the ground. She
is still flight handicapped, so I can't say what she would do if she
felt confident enough to choose.
