Mona makes a good point. Many people with Greys that didn't fledge at the appropriate time have a hard time getting the bird to initiate flight, even if they have their full wings. The 14 year old grey I took in about a year ago is wanting to fly, but I think it is solely because of my tiel flying. At first, it was only when the tiel flew through the room that the grey would flap or act like she wanted to fly. Now she practices with or without the tiel and I expect she will be taking her first purposeful flight any day now. Several people (some on this list) have shared the opinion with me that having a flying bird around really helped their older bird to desire to fly.

Your sun conure is another story. Those guys are strong fliers and can usually fly a little even with a couple of feathers missing. He will surely learn to fly if you allow the wing feathers to regrow. If you allow the sun to fly, you may have a better chance at getting Timmy to fly.
