Looks like have a great start on this. I have a little experience with
riding with a bird on my shoulder also and it can be a really fun thing for
you both. Just make sure not to try to progress too quickly here. You made
some pretty large steps here in what you described above. Give him a chance
to kind of grow into each phase of this before upping the criteria another
large step on him. But hey, it is working for you so far so maybe you are
moving right along at just the right speed.
