Reason for bite?
This evening I was getting fresh water for our 2 parrots and 3 yr old
Phoebe Grey was on the counter near the sink. I took her large green
crock to the sink first to clean it out. She kind of came over my way,
seemingly curious and just trying to involve herself in what I was
doing. Filled up her crock with fresh water & put it back in her cage.
Then I got Slider's white crock to do the same . . . I was cleaning it
out, not really paying any attention to Phoebe - she was playing about 3
feet away. All of a sudden something was latched on to my elbow.
Phoebe had quickly taken flight and did the hold on and grind and don't
let go kind of bite. For a second I didn't even know it was her. I
kind of did a quick circular motion and was able to get her to release
and fly off.
This happened about 6 to 8 months ago and again it was at the sink
filling up the white crock - she attacked my hand then and again it was
hold on and don't let go. No bites in between that time.
Does anyone know why the heck this white crock at the sink triggers this
attack? Would it be jealousy because the white crock is Slider's? I
usually use the green crocks for Phoebe and white for Slider, just
because of habit and theses crocks came with their cages. But I'm not
that obsessive - LOL- sometimes I use whatever color is clean. Phoebe
doesn't do this if I'm washing out a pot or something else.
At least this is something I can easily remedy - but I'm curious as to
why this has occurred.
Thanks, Leigh
