Hi Dan,
If I were going to look into vacuum cleaners today I would buy a nice little shop vac at Home Depot for the heavy duty stuff and a 
nice little Dirt Devil vacuum at Wal-Mart for touch-up, rugs, etc. You should be able to get both for at least half the cost of a 
Dyson or Windtunnel.

Hi Everyone,

I've been living with birds who continue to get more and more mobile,
as well as spending ever increasing time outside of their cage. This
has made cleaning increasingly difficult as well. My vacuum cleaner
just gave up the fight, and I have a back up, but its pretty beat up.
I need floor vac with hose that can deal with dog & cat hair,
feathers, down, seed hulls & nutshells, etc. I am particularly
interested in the Dysons & Windtunnels. Any good or bad experiences,
suggestions, etc?
