Thanks everyone,

What I'm really looking for is a good, heavy duty floor vac with a 
hose. I have large and small tank vacs, and a classic handheld dirt 
devil as well as a dirt devil stick vac. They all have their 
drawbacks. Best I've found so far is my old, old floor vac (I forget 
the brand). I suppose if I could find a replacement cord and hose it 
would be good to go for quite awhile longer. I was just wondering if 
any of the new designs would better fill my needs.
