Re: [Freeflight] Re: Aversive Stimulus.....it aint necessarily so
Hi Chris:
Yep, the one lined "grand inquisition post" was a mistake. I'm not sure how it got sent except to say that's what I get for trying to do both work and email at the same time.....Blahhhhhh......
The finished post did get to the freeflight list as well.....I was basically saying that you teach "off" as a cue rather than use a shock collar to punish......but you can read it yourself.
...and since you asked, no - I know that I am NOT the all powerful authority in my birds' lives any more than I am the all powerful authority in anybody's life......I just toss out ideas and suggestions, and most of the time I find myself "going with the flow"....(as a matter of fact, Babylon is sitting on my head as I type right now, whimpering, chewing on strands, preening.....Then she takes off and sits on top of the door frame and preens.....) For the most part, the birds and I hang out together. Actually, if I had to characterize my role....I guess I'd go more with "director of entertainment".
Let me know when we've moved out of the "dark side" here, okay?
Thanks.
