We had a similar thing happen here in the Caribbean. Rats were=20
indroduced to the islands (from EUROPE, Bart!) and they damaged the=20
sugar cane crop. Some bright individual introduced mongoose to get=20
rid of the rat problem. Unfortunately, rats are nocturnal and mongoos=20
like the day so both lived in harmony. Native birds and snakes paid=20
the price and we have not one local snake on the islands here.=20=20
