RE: [Freeflight] newby questions
I am very new to this list and want to learn as much as I can about
freeflight. I really want my 2 year old YNA to have a life with as much
flight as I can provide but I am not willing to have constant fear of losin=
g
her. I think now that I will never be comfortable with flying outside of a
large building but who knows! I=92m here with an open mind. I=92m also
uneducated because there is so little available on the topic of freeflight
for companion parrots. I know many of you will think these are stupid
questions but here goes.
1) Since parrots are banded anyway, why can=92t you put a band on your
bird with telephone number and =93Large Reward=94 for the possibility that =
your
bird flies away? This may not help in all cases but may really help
sometimes.
2) Why doesn=92t anyone use the long flight line and leg harness (don=
=92t
know the correct language) that is used by falconers? We have a friend who
comes out to our land and hunts his red tail hawk. He trained his bird with
a set up like that. Why not parrots?
