I don't know. When Wacko did fly off, the weather was very bad. Winds at
60km/h, when I was walking around it started to drizzle several times. I
saw people in the street, but they were all focused on going somewhere, on
doing what they were doing, not just hanging out and enjoying the good
weather.
The first time it was in a restaurant where people were dining outside, in
the garden.
The second time, it was a man sitting in the garden with his family and
Wacko landed on the fence.
The third time it was on the 3th or 4th floor, a man sitting on the terrace
enjoying the weather.
So I feel Wacko first observed and then came down to the people.
With the bad weather, he would not have had the chance to observe people,
people were to busy, focused on getting back inside. Also due to the wind,
people would have had problems to hear him.
It is guessing but I feel if Wacko did find somebody he would have been
taken inside and not have had a chance to get back inside.
But this still does not answer the question why he did not come back to the
house at dusk for shelter and food. The weather was very bad, so the
shelter option must have been tempting. I'll try to post the pictures
today, the food option must have been less important for him.
One possible answer could be he was surprised by dusk. It goes very slowly
in Belgium, not like where they come from. In the house not all the rooms
are lit, so they are used to fly in half dark. The top of the trees do have
light from the sun behind the horizon which reflects on the sky. But down
it is to dark to land or fly.
It would be an interesting experiment to see if Wacko now keeps a closer eye
on dusk. But I'm not sure I'm already up to it...
